In a system linear of equations you can either have one solution, many solutions or no solution. Also if it has at least one solution it’s considered consistent; if it has no solution it’s considered inconsistent. The solutions are where the lines intersect.
One Solution: Consistent
x + y = 3
x – y = -1
Many Solutions: Consistent
x + y = 3
2x + 2y = 6
No Solution: Inconsistent
x + y = 3
x + y = 1
